Green Beans are a favorite vegetable of mine, but they need to be cooked perfectly. Here I show you how to blanch green beans - a very simple, but killer technique that will help you cook them to perfection everytime.

For those not familiar with blanching, it's a cooking technique, where you "pre-cook" the green beans in some salted boiling water until they are about 70% cooked, and then cool them in an ice bath to stop the cooking and set the color. You can do it hours in a advance and then when you're ready to go, just finish the green beans off quickly.

Blanching is very simple to do, will let you do more ahead of time, and I'll guarantee you'll end up with better cooked green beans.
