In April of last year I started having shoulder pain after whitewater paddling sessions. I brushed it off and tried to work through it but the pain would not resolve. After an initial 4 months of physical therapy I hadn't improved at all so I opted for surgery. I had four anchors put in my posterior and superior labrum. I had two rotator cuff tears cleaned up and they found that my long head bicep tendon had completely ruptured. After 5 months of post-op PT this was my first day back on the water. I'm starting with 1 mile of flat water and working my way up to longer distance. I'm hoping to be back on whitewater this summer. I'll be adding some more videos about my experience with this injury soon. I'll also be adding some more whitewater footage from previous seasons.
