Jacob Newell performs section 2 of Ruyu-style Taijiquan solo form. (This demo include brief pauses to clearly show each step for instructional purposes, but in actual practice, once we have learned each step well, there is no stopping of movement.)
Some Principles of Ruyu Taiji: -Drop the pelvis and suspend the head-top -Drop all the weight into one foot, empty the other leg -Keep the elbows down and relax the shoulders -Keep the hips & shoulders together (turn in and out of the hip joint) -Separate weight shifts from turns -Relax everything downward...heavy below, light above
