Hadassah was born 4 weeks pre-mature. She could not stand for 10 days. This was one of Dr. Koella's personal foals. Mom (wife), the collie dog, the Maltese, and the 2 cats sat with Hadassah 24 hours a day for 3 weeks without sleep! It was record low temps the first week in the spring of 2009. Hadassah was kept warm with heat lamps, 2 cats sleeping on her, the collie beside her, and Mom on the other side. Doctor dad worked long spring farm calls and would race home several times a day to doctor the new addition, who was bravely hanging on for dear life. Her legs were limp, and she could barely hold her head up. Her lungs were not ready for air, her tummy wasn't ready for milk. With an IV, feeding tube, lots of pepto and TLC, help form devoted friends and nieces, and many prayers.......she is still with us and a tad demanding I might add!
