Meet Scarlet.... She is a Solomon Island Eclectes. She is 4 years old coming up on 5 years old. Her owner called me hysterical in tears tonight and said come get this bird please, it keeps attacking me and she indeed had wounds all over her arms and wrists as did her friend that was trying to help her. She pretty much said she needed us to come pick this bird up in like the next twenty minutes. So, we moved all of the bird food out of the kitchen and made wall space for the cage. When we got there she showed us how indeed she was attacking her. And I simply toweled her calm, and snuggled her into my chest like a baby. She seemed happy like that. I placed her gently in a carrier and off we went.

She hid under her blankie and seems very happy under there. We are figuring a bit of hormones and nesting is going on. She does not know how to step up, has never heard the word in my opinion. She use to get grabbed with fast hard fingers at her and if she bit she would get cussed at and thrown to the side. Well, of course you would not like your owner either. She also was a drinker and was not steady on her feet at all. After she got home she came out of her carrier on her own on her time choice on a perch stand. When she was ready she did come out and the went right to me and let me feed her and give her kisses. She loveeeed Eric, she jumped up on him giving kisses and snuggles up on his shoulders. He fed her peppers, and nuts and I set up his cage. She doing great. We know just what to do. We cleaned up that cage, put all new toys into it and places she could snuggle up to. Food Bowls, treat bowls with herb salad, Calcium and toys. It looks like she will be fine. She is a bit cage aggressive, but we can work with that. Took us a few hours to get her and get the cage clean and set up but she is asleep now. Here is her first video.
