The Arrows perform fheir debut LP title track "First Hit" sung by Alan Merrill. Guitar and backing vocals by Jake Hooker, drums and backing vocals by Paul Varley. From their weekly series on Granada ITV, produced by Muriel Young. This version is fairly true to the album track, but there are many alternate later versions by the band that were broadcast that were given a very different approach.

Lyrics- "FIRST HIT"

When I was just a boy, my mamma said to me,
Keep your hands out of the fire
getting burned gonna bring you misery
Well I had to learn the hard way,
and she smacked me cross the face
But the pain didn't stay, no it didn't hurt a bit
I had my first hit,
The first hit of my life-

Do you remember school?
They tried to throw me out
Caught me with the goods,
smoke curling out my mouth
I cried my eyes out to the Dean,
it was almost a good enough act
At unlucky 13, man I just had to admit,
it was my first hit
First hit of my life-

Then I fell in love, sure enough tasted sweet
We had it all together,
This thing was sewn up neat
Worked to give her my money,
gave her everything I had
Well for better or bad
one day she just split.
another first hit, first hit of my life-
