In preparation for the kick-off of the adaptive rowing program in Iowa City, coaches Jane Gressang and LlynnAnn Leullen participated in the Hands-on Adaptive Weekend Workshop conducted by Bobby Hurley in Louisville Kentucky. Part of their experience was an interview with arms and shoulders rower Jenny Smith. Jenny sustained a c6 spinal cord injury 21 years ago. She discusses how she began rowing, the importance of volunteers, classification for regatta competition, safety and the importance of communication with partner rowers and coaches. Videography and off camera questions are by Robert Black. Enjoy.
