If you are walking down the street and see a plastic bottle or a bag, please pick it up. When it rains, or if someone hoses it down the drain, that plastic ends up first in the river and then (maybe) the ocean. This kind of pollution is referred to as non-point source pollution because it cant be traced back to any specific or particular source beyond our random, collective carelessness.
