LISTEN & ORDER DIGITAL ALBUM NOW at https://itun.es/i6SJ2Tk ~ 2015 JUNO Award Nominees and 2012 Canadian Folk Music Award winners SULTANS OF STRING, are releasing our fifth CD... with sitar virtuoso ANWAR KHURSHID. We are calling it Subcontinental Drift.

“Canada’s ambassadors of musical diversity” include 6-string violinist Chris McKhool (who has guest starred with Pavlo and Jesse Cook), dueling guitar czars Kevin Laliberté (Jesse Cook) and Eddie Paton (Robert Michaels), bass master Drew Birston (Chantal Kreviazuk, Amanda Martinez), and the jaw dropping talent of Cuban percussionist Chendy Leon (Alex Cuba)!

In this special recording, Sultans of String meet the electricity of sitar master Anwar Khurshid in an innovative collaboration that transcends categorization. Anwar's sitar playing has been featured in Oscar-winning film Life of Pi and The Love Guru. Originally from Pakistan, Anwar now makes Canada his home, regularly collaborating with musicians from other genres including Blues, Jazz, African, Middle Eastern, and Asian music, and has performed across Europe, USA and Asia.

Music has the ability to bring together people and cultures in a way that emulates what we love to see in the world, creating a collaboration that breaks down the barriers that divide us, and helping us to see our common humanity, and providing a model for peace.
