Reflect is a puzzle game that uses reflection as its major gameplay element. Players will make their way through mazes and puzzles by the use of mirrors and they will have to overcome obstacles such as turrets, cameras and lasers in order to make it to the objective. The game objective is to finish every level. The team will be working with the Brigade path-tracing engine developed by Jacco Bikker. The goal of the team is to create a game that shows the strongest aspects of this game engine. But the team also wants the game to be fun; the fun element is a major influence in the design. The team does not want to create a working piece of technology; we want to create a fun experience for players. The basics of the game are originally used by Valve in the game Portal, released in 2007. The experience has to be fun and challenging, with a lot of humor and satire that adds to the experience. The mechanic of shooting mirrors onto walls (mirrors that have real-world lightning and reflection quality) has never been done before. This is our unique selling point and the element around which the game revolves. The game will be a mix of clever puzzle design, a smooth and polished art style and natural lightning and reflections. It is an interesting combination that will make for an interesting and fun game.
