This is my clothes packing technique for my bicycle commute that I like to call The Polyester Burrito. Notice the shirt is buttoned prior to packing and it is laying flat. I'm a school teacher and it's summer so I haven't worn that particular shirt in about three months so it does have a few wrinkles from hanging in the closet. The "height" of the pile (in this case, socks & t-shirt) is important so that the sleeves of the shirt can have something to wrap around. If your pile isn't high enough, you can stick a wash cloth or hand towel in there for substance. Also key is as much synthetic fiber in the wardrobe as possible, however, I've never had a problem using this technique with cotton either.
