"The Sun In My Eyes" seems happy because it speaks of some future time when the worst has happened, and some people have pulled together into a dug-out cave village to start over. The character voice in the story is optimistic for being a survivor, and for knowing the worst is over. There is an air of the supernatural; angels or perhaps aliens co-existing with humans in this future time, this "new" or "fifth" world.

Breaking out. The Sun In My Eyes engages the world we live in and derives a greater depth of meaning as time goes on. This kind of music is truly new. Maybe it is brought on by the dawning of the "fifth world", which will be a time of deeper understanding where science and humanity coexist perfectly, and perhaps unknown parts of the brain will begin to unfurl into an existence of extrasensory intelligence. Maybe the world can transition into this dawning of new reason in a peaceful way.

The (rising) tSUNami In My Eyes... I suppose it is odd coincidence this video was uploaded exactly 1 week before the triple-threat disaster of earthquake, tsunami and leaking Fukushima nuclear reactors happened in Japan. It is unbelievable and totally sad to witness. It would seem that nuclear war is not the only bad thing about our nuclear aspirations. I feel that the environment we have will become the most important thing to every human being very soon. If it becomes our foremost concern soon enough, we can avert further disaster and transition harmoniously.

Leaves, trees, peace and grass
The waters sparkle clean
Lately I'm walking with a spiritual meaning

Among these evergreens I heard your voice
Yet it seemed you were made up of natural noise

Running the bountiful and rugged terrain
From the valley to the sky
I never had felt my soul so high

A camera captured something of the sun in my eyes
They were there all along but were waiting to surprise me

The Earth is turning round so the sun touches down
Had to get back to the village
Some people on the trail stopped to enquire

Who was that person that was walking with you?
I am not sure but he said "be not afraid" then flew away

A brief thunderstorm gave way in favor of a dry breeze from the East
The central fire in the gathering place was laid out for the feast
The cold wind blows what the ancient ones know

You find yourself listening to the stories being told
They connect the esoteric to the purpose of your soul

And I left the city years ago just before the nuclear wars
And now I bed down on the forest floor underneath a blanket of stars
The cold wind blew what the ancient ones knew

To not be afraid of what is to be shown
And not to dwell with the fear of the unknown
We're not going back, the old-world severed those ties
I awake to the next day with the sun in my eyes
(underlying background singing, mathematically spaced at 3 phrasings)
[The.... sun.... in.... my.... eyes...]
[The -- sun -- in -- my -- eyes - the -- sun -- in -- my -- eyes]
[The sun.. in my eyes.. the sun.. in my eyes]

(Lead guitar, 5 bars)

The sun in my eyes, the sun in my eyes
The sun in my eyes, the sun in my eyes

Most of the footage is of New Mexico and Arizona, the forests and deserts in 2008. There are a few drawings from a book I am writing about a post-apocalyptic village.

Opening sequence of music: the main acoustic guitar part, a major melody "minored" by a complete backward loop of the same thing, overlaid (but quieter, and 5/8 measure sooner) on top of itself. It gives a doomy feeling for the opening.

Second part: The main part, which is a happier melody, becomes the focus and drive.

Lead guitar: this is the actual video of me playing the lead for this recording; done in one take.
