I was bored so I decided to see how Windows 7 would run on this ancient old motherboard I have. I think the motherboard is from around 1999. It took just over two hours to install. These are the spec's: CPU: AMD-K6 @ 550Mhz w/ 100Mhz fsb RAM: 512mb pc100 Video SIS 8mb Integrated I Installed everything on a newer 80 gig hard drive
I have to say, I am impressed with how well win7 runs on this old motherboard. It's only using a little more than half the ram on this fresh install. Watch the video and see, it is usable as soon as the desktop shows up. Skip ahead to 3:40 if you don't want to watch it boot.:-) Funny thing is, its so old windows can't rate it! lol. The only real problem I noticed is that it didn't see the old integrated audio and so there is no audio installed.
