June 7, 2013: Pt. 1 on Mr. Reich's testimony in the Frye hearing. (A "Frye Hearing" is a formal challenge to a party's proffered experts, basically on the basis that the purported expert is a loon, quack, snake oil salesman, publisher of articles in Smoke and Mirrors, Cheap Parlor Tricks magazine, and all around fool.)

Want to hear the value of this testimony, go to minute marker 11:18

Note: Mr. Reich's testimony impeached (discredited) the State's other voice (audio) expert Tom Owen.

Specifically, the centerpiece of (discredited) expert Tom Owen's testimony was his using Easy Voice software to arrive at results from his analysis of the 911 audio.

Mr. Reich testified words to the effect: Speech recognition and identification software -- e.g. Owen's Easy Voice -- is NOT reliable for speech identification in a forensics setting (which is the only science that might even be allowed in a murder case.)
