'I am The Sea and The Real Me'. What a way to open up their second rock opera, Quadrophenia. Pete's masterpiece layered with the magic of John, Keith and Roger. The story of a young mod, Jimmy. Fighting with his four personalitys. The mood of the album is painted brilliantly. Pure genius from Pete Townshend.
When the listener first either put the stylus needle on the vinyl record or pressed play. You knew the musical journey The Who were about too take you on was going to be fantastic. Just John's horn section alone at the beginning of the song is breathtaking chilling.
In this video, I have made here. I have decided to do a mix of only two of Jimmy's faces. The tough guy and the bloody lunatic side of Mr Jimmy Cooper. (Which are mean't to represent Who member themes - Roger's and Keith's for this video) So the footage is filled with The Who destroying their instruments and smashing up plently of equipment.
The album was released on 19th of October in 1973. So let Jimmy lead the way! We Are Mods! We Are The Mods! We Are, We Are The Mods! Brighton Times.
