University of Groningen Chemistry professor Sijbren Otto works on chemical evolution. Molecules combine, grow and change in his test tubes. Can we use this to create life from lifeless matter? Otto thinks we can. Early in 2013, he received a EUR 1.5 Million VICI-grant from the Dutch funding agency NWO to continue his work.
