Today Steve Jobs took the stage at his very own WWDC keynote. The iPhone 4 is the newest iPhone to be released later this month, June 24th, 2010 for $199 on a 2-year contract. The iPhone 4 has many new features, and is the same exact phone as the phone leaked by Gizmodo and many other websites, such as the iPhone 4 leaked in Vietnam last month.
The main new feature in iPhone 4 is that there is video chatting since there is now a front-facing camera. The iPhone 4, like I just stated, has a front-facing camera which is capable of video chatting through the new video-chatting application, Facetime. Facetime is going to allow iPhone 4 to iPhone 4 video chatting over WiFi only.
The iPhone 4 also has a new 5 megapixel camera capable of recording 720p video recording. There is also a LED flash on the back of the iPhone 4, and a mobile iMovie application is now going to be available on the phone for a fee of $4.99. iMovie for iPhone will be available in iTunes shortly.
Moving along to the screen on the iPhone 4, there is a new Retina display, which is Apple's new technology that allows more ppi (pixels per inch) than the human eye can see. The screen resolution on the new iPhone 4 is a whopping 960 x 640, which is better than any phone on the market today.
Next, the hardware. The iPhone 4, like stated before, has both a front and back facing camera. The back of the phone is completely flat and has a new material which is supposedly 30x harder than plastic. There is also stainless steel edges to the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 also has new volume controls, which instead of being attached, are now two separate circular buttons. One is to raise the volume, and one is to lower the volume. The vibrate switch is also different, and is now longer.
