This is my 68 Ford 2000 gas 3cyl. I'm needing some help on my 68 Ford 2000 gas tractor. It was running pretty smooth with the bush hog going until I hit the right brake to turn. I did a 30 second video of what it is running like so people can see and hear it. I do not know if it is a carb issue, timing issue, or valve issue. It runs fine until an extra load is put on it and then the RPM's start bouncing up and down several 100's. It is not surging up any, it is dropping 500-600 RPM's and coming back up to the original speed. It does it several times a second. more of a pulsing. my RPM gauge is off but you can still see and hear what I mean. Is the carb dry and the pulsing from the fuel pump pulsating fuel into the bowl? Vacuum timing not retarding? A stuck valve?
If I press the clutch slightly and take some of the load off it will smooth out. Any extra load causes this to happen. Thick grass, small hump, turning, anything can cause it.
