Video shows a trumpeting elephant, who didn't want to take its bath. This is one of a number of sounds made by elephants. Also shows the amazing intellectual ability of the elephant. Asian and African elephants are shown.

Discussion of how elephants learn to use their truck. The elephant is one of few animals that recognize self in mirror, also one of the few animals that can throw things. Elephants do a lot of learning, and have to learn how to use their trunk. They also learn human language.

Young are mischievous. They play trip keepers and can spook a bird. They understand what others are thinking at an early age. They have a sense of humor.

Live in matriarchial society, of females. Males leave, but come in later for breeding.

The Asian bull elephant in this video is considered the tallest Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) in North America. He is 10 feet at the central hump at his back as described in:

The African Bush Elephant (Loxodonta africana) and the African Forest Elephant (Loxodonta cyclotis) are the two species of African elephant.
