Iran unveiled three squadrons of new flying boats on Tuesday, Iranian news agencies reported.

The craft, dubbed the Bavar 2, is armed with a machine gun and carries surveillance cameras, according to a report from the Iranian Student News Agency.

The really frightening thing is that they can upgrade these things by adding a really angry chimp with a pointy stick. I just don't think there's any defense against something that devastating considering that the monkey might have a pretty serious Indian burn and could be in a foul mood because of that. Terrifying thought. Sends chills up and down my body.

These appear to be Russian Ekranoplans (ground effect vehicles). They might make good coast guard vehicles for interdicting smugglers but they are not military weapons.
