Sorry about the crap lighting....my camera doesn't like artificial light and makes it look darker than really it is

This is the Stoker stove i made from to heat my house this winter.....it runs on a non-swelling Sub-Bituminous coal not Anthracite coal like most flatbed stokers an has a few deviations from the design of standard flatbed stokers that i have seen pictures of on the 'net.

It has a 1 RPM pellet stove feed motor but this will shortly be swapped out for a 2 rpm motor when it arrives....the combustion air fan is 50 CFM.....the Grate where the coal burns and the sides of the burn channel are made from a cast iron BBQ plate that i cut to shape fitted inside a 6 inch box section that makes up the body of the stoker unit....there is a guide that stops the coal from piling up in front of the clinker that forms over the air hole...this plate forces the coal to push the clinker down the fire-bed.
There is another plate that forces any volatiles driven off the coal in front of the firebed to pass thru the flames and be burnt...which results in literally zero smoke out the chimney.....when your paying for coal, visible smoke is money.....and i'm a cheapskate....i want all my BTU's damn-it!!!!!

i built the stove body out of 1/8"(3mm) plate/sheet steel that i got folded up and i finished it off with with baffles doors floor roof etc....it has 2 80cfm silent computer fans blowing air up the back of the stove and over the top along a series of 1"x 1/8" flat bars welded to the stove body as a heatsink and covered by the top shroud

It was all built with only pictures and videos on the internet to get ideas from and probably violates about 50 patents....but that's OK cos i was never going to buy anything from the patent owners anyway so they haven't lost out.....and if anyone does sue me they will get about $12.50 and a pack of smokes
