In 2011 and 2012, previously lost, unpublished manuscripts by the great ragtime composer Joseph Lamb were discovered as a group sifted through unmarked boxes and envelopes originally belonging to Mills Music Inc. in the 1920s. Lamb had been commissioned by Mills to write novelty piano music for them, and sold them several pieces, but they never were published, and for nearly a century have been thought lost forever.

This was the first of four "lost" pieces so far discovered. Rather than a novelty like Mills wanted, it's actually a pretty typical Lamb rag.

You can purchase the sheet music for this rag here: http://www.onlinesheetmusic.com/chime...

(In the "Customers who bought this item also bought" section, you'll find the others that have been discovered recently.)

Tom was asked to play this during a seminar about the discovery of these lost Lamb pieces presented by Bob Pinsker at the 2012 Sutter Creek Ragtime Festival.
