haha, I love how you picked up on that

Just came across this discussion. It's silly to argue over music. Natalie is wonderful fiddler and it's not a competition! The McDades will be performing in Quebec and the same festivals as Natalie, should be a great time. Come by and support live music whenever you can.

There are lots of good fiddlers named Rankin too!

hey that's a tommy anderson tune from shetland right?
David Rankin
I agree, there are better players. Noone says she's the best, but she is very good. Cape Breton has much talent to offer, and Natalie may not be the best fiddler, but her name is out, and people love her. congrats to her for that. Personally, I perfer Andrea Beaton's playing, but I don't say that Andrea should get more attention or fame, because that all has to do with your connections, not your talent.

I don't understand why people waste there time arguing online about whos better then who, or about where there from usa/canada wherever, respect music, and if you think its the shits or is shit, you should still respect it, and if shes so over-rated whys she playing with bela fleck lol

I don't understand why someone (canadianmusicfan) would be so harsh about this superbly talented fiddler. I also don't understand why she's not a whole lot more well known. But then, there's alot of things I don't understand.
