The Tweetsie Railroad is home to some fantastic Mountain Clogging. Sparta hosts the Alleghany Fiddler's Convention. The Wilkes Playmakers have been acting out the story of Tom Dooley for years. Rather than taking a passing glance, you can also participate in art creation by enrolling in one of the seminars and workshops provided by the NC High Country. A variety of art Festivals are also a fun stop like Boone's Appalachian Summer Fest, and Blowing Rock's Art in the Park.
