Ever wonder what you might look like in 8 bit form? Well, if you've got 30 minutes, a good picture of yourself and Photoshop, you can download a free template courtesy of Being Geek Chic and create an 8-bit version of yourself. The free downloadable template is available at http://beinggeekchic.com/tagged/tutorial

Your new 8-bit portrait is perfect for your Facebook profile pic, Twitter handle or official headshot. Why not have a little fun with it, you know what I mean? Here's a couple tips for choosing a photo of yourself:

- A photo where you are looking straight at the camera, not up towards the lens or down.

- A photo with resolution high enough for you to expand the image for a close up view.

- If you're a girl, choose a photo with your hair down. Updos can be tough to translate.

- If you normally wear glasses, choose a photo where the outline of your face isn't distorted by the prescription in your lenses, if possible.
