January 13th, 2008 saw the first ever Wassail (meaning good health) to be held at the young orchard on Pickering Road, Hull, UK.
The Wassail started with an opening dance performance by Yorkshire's own all female Morris 'The Raving Maes' leading to a procession through the allotments to the orchard.
The apple trees to be blessed had been planted as part of a scheme to provide local schools with a minimum 5-a-day fresh fruit and vegetables.
