This is my entry for the Tune Up for COPD songwriting contest! Send me to Nashville, Patty and Billy Ray!

I am well aware of the effects of COPD. My grandmother is living with COPD and relies on a tank of air to get her through her days. I understand the importance of lung capacity. My dad and my sister have asthma. "Just breathe" echoes in our walls. Thanks to great physicians and improved treatment options, we can inhale a little easier. Now everyone has the opportunity to live life to the fullest and drive in the fast lane.

"The Fast Lane" lyrics:

I used to watch life pass me by.
I was spinnin' my wheels all the time.
Didn't know where to go, couldn't decide.
Now I'm changin' lanes and pickin' up speed.
I take a deep breath and live the dream.
Ain't no one stopping me if I believe.

Oh yeah, take control of the wheel.
Sayin' oh yeah, love how it feels.
Oh yeah, ain't lettin' up on the gas.
Oh yeah, breathe it all in.
Oh yeah, let the road never end.
Oh yeah, ain't nothing in my way -- livin' life in the fast lane.

I love the open road in front of me.
I know I can do anything.
All I need is the will to succeed.
Slowing down is not an option.
I'm not afraid, bring on the horizon.
From now on I'm driving towards the sun.

Repeat chorus

I used to watch life pass me by.
I was spinning my wheels all the time
Now I know where to go, I've made up my mind.
