Only 53,000 students who sat the 2012 KCSE exams will be admitted to public universities under the regular intake program after the Joint Admissions Board set a cut off mark of 60 points which is a mean grade of 'B' plain , with girls securing the university positions with a cut off 59 points, an aggregate of B-.
The cut off mark is lower than the previous year's.
