This is the first, of two albums by late-60s hard rock trio, Gun. This group consisted of two brothers, Adrian (Guitar) and Paul Gurvitz (Bass/Lead Vocals), and Louis Farrell (Drums). They formed as a band, recorded and released this album all in 1968. They released another album in 1969, and broke up. Nothing else ever came from this band, and they were not very popular. However, they did have a top-ten hit in the U.K. with the opening track off this album.

1. Race With the Devil
2. The Sad Saga of the Boy and the Bee
3. Rupert's Travels
4. Yellow Cab Man
5. It Won't Be Long
6. Sunshine
7. Rat Race
8. Take Off

For info it's Louie (not Louis), good to see that so many appreciate the music we were doing back in the old days, I'm now in my 67th year (and can still lay down a beat!), the Gun were a ground breaking band, it was a good example of great timing, for three individuals to gel so well together on-stage but off-stage were very volatile! My greatest regret is that we never took the project further. I hope you all still enjoy listening to the music we made back then, kind regards Louie, Drums - The Gun!

The Gurvits Brothers formed THREE MAN ARMY after Gun. And they released 3 albums as THREE MAN ARMY. A Third Of A Lifetime (1971), Mahesha (1973) and Three Man Army Two (1974) After Three Man Army, they hooked up with Ginger Baker for The Baker-Gurvitz Army. The Three Man Army albums are all excellent hard rock albums.

I have actually researched hard rock from it's earliest stages to current bands and in all honesty this is some of the best I have heard from this era and it's real cool to know this came from 1968. As another member replied Wow what a gem to stumble upon.

is that art by Roger Dean? It looks so familiar, the creatures and coloring.
