- Castle Calamity as a game? What is this? -
It is a chance for any character to attempt to try to destroy the castle, only to fail once again. This time, in playable game format.. Characters have the opportunity to beat the castle senseless as they please. Just that the castle will just not fall in that manner. They must rely on objects that are provided to try to destroy it. Unfortunately, they don't work as they are supposed to, which ends up backfiring on the characters.
- Why MUGEN? -
I chose Mugen for the game engine because there are numerous amounts of characters already programmed by various authors. Instead of limiting myself to one or two characters per ones own game, Mugen allows for any kind of character ever imagined. However, this game will work on most normal coded characters such as Kung Fu Man. Having the game coded in Mugen's game engine gives a more variety of characters an opportunity to fail at destroying a castle.
If there is enough response & support, I will consider making it as a regular new game outside of Mugen's fighting game engine from the ground up.
Otherwise, the original plans for this was to go up to 50 different scenes, if not 100 different scenarios. However, this game was built to support over 900 different scenarios in the future, either all made by me, or various others submitted by fans under my authorization.
* What's in store for V2.0:
- More scenarios added. up to 30 scenes by far.
- Lots of fixes & graphic updates from the previous 1.0
- New background stage remix included in v2.0.
- Mario, Luigi, and more brief character cameo appearances.
