Quebec legislation is expected to pass today that will force a number of strict guidelines upon Quebec student protestors, with the threat of harsh financial penalties. I don't expect protestors to go along with this (and I'd hope they wouldn't), so most likely many students are going to be arrested and fined in the days ahead. Jean Charest says that he is doing this to "restore the calm" of Quebec.

This legislation is being pushed by Quebec Premiere Jean Charest, Leader of the Quebec Liberal party and ex-member of the Progressive Conservatives. He seems right-at-home here in the days of Harperland.
