I've got a very special tasting today--Half Acre Beer Company's Callow Knife. This one JUST came out and it's a special at-brewery-only beer (you can only get it on draft or by the growler from their Chicago brewery.) According to the Half Acre blog (it's so new, it's not even on their website!), it's got the same malt base as their Daisy Cutter, but is dry hopped with Falconer and Citra hops.

I really liked this beer! It's a good hoppy beer--I'd consider it to be an IPA. The bitter taste is present but not as overpowering as their Daisy Cutter. What really comes through is the hop aroma and flavor. The bittering is very decent though--don't let me fool you! If you don't like IPA's or hops in general, I'd steer clear of this one. I'd give it two thumbs up--and I'm actually going to get another growler full here soon if I can. I love IPA's and really like how this one is balanced out.

Cheers!

Joe
