From 1969, the second in the long-running "One of These Things" series with Bob (Bob McGrath) using an apple, an ice cream cone, a hamburger, and a mitten. Hint: "Did you ever try eating a mitten?" CLICK ON SHOW MORE FOR INFO AND LINKS!
The first version was sung by Susan (Loretta Long) in Episode #0001 using a letter W and three number 2s. Written by Joe Raposo, Jon Stone, and Bruce Hart, it was usually used in sketches showing a group of four items.
In 1970, another song, "Three of These Things Belong Together" (by Joe Raposo and Jeff Moss), was used for groups of three, which led to other variations such as "Two of These Things", "Here Are Some Things That Belong Together", and "Three of These Kids Belong Together" (sometimes called "One of These Kids", a four-way split screen showing three kids doing one activity and a fourth "doing his own thing").
An enduring classic, really cool to see its humble beginnings.
