Hanover, NH Dartmouth College mobilizes within hours in response to the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Campus leaders came together to form Students at Dartmouth for Haiti Response an organization uniting all members of the Dartmouth community to make a concerted unified effort to not only fundraise for Haiti but use this catastrophe as a learning experience. Committees were formed to focus on short-term outcomes, such as a benefit concert and providing medical supplies, but the long-term goal is a sustained interest in educating the community about the issues Haiti faces.
SDHR is working to collaborate with institutions all around the nation to not only to immediately help Haiti but also to educate us about the situation faced by developing nations. If you are interested in becoming engaged in this initiative or would like to collaborate on ideas, please contact the SDHR team at Students.For.Haiti@Dartmouth.Edu.
