The new Colville Manor brings a tremendous sense of pride for manor residents and community members in the Souris area. In the new 52-bed facility, residents will live in one of four households, which will each be home to 13 residents. Each household has a kitchen and living room and every resident has a private room and bathroom. The smaller household design provides a better physical environment as well as an improved staffing model.
Government invested approximately $10.4 million in the Colville facility. It is expected to be occupied and fully operational in October 2011. Colville is one of five manors being replaced under government's $63 million manor replacement project, one of the pillars of the 2009 provincial Healthy Aging Strategy.
