This is not very helpful for the "Illuminator" badge. This process is about getting the greatest NUMBER of fields, not the greatest total size.

My first video on Ingress field maximization was very brief since I was hoping to get it featured as an Ingress Report Sitrep: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0Orv5.... This is a more complete explanation of how to get as many fields as possible from you portals.

Here's a version of the code I used to make big plans. It's not professional, but you're welcome to take a look:

The jet-analogy order:
1) Tail (including links inside)
2) Interior links of the wings (the rest of the links that don't touch the nose)
3) The outside links of the wings
4) The jet link

If any of these triangles have more triangles inside, apply the same order to them. If the tail contains a jet, the tail's nose can be any of its three corners. If a wing contains a jet, the nose portal must be the same as the larger jet's nose.

Some challenges I didn't address in this video:
== how to tell which side of a link a portal is on
== choosing link directions to minimize travel
== choosing link directions to avoid more than 8 outgoing links
== removing links that are already on your portals
== harvesting keys

When multiple agents are involved, you'll also need to consider
== distributing keys
== knowing when it's time to make your link

I don't know what's wrong with those annotation labels. They work in the annotation editor but some of them get duplicated on the regular page.
