Brad Saunders, N1GZB pedaling for all he's worth attempting to generate enough power to make 5 contacts during Oxford County ARES Field Day 2009 at Fryeburg Fairground. We used a road touring bike bolted to an exercise bike conversion kit. We used a DC motor out of a treadmill as a generator. The motor 's pulley is simply being held against the tire. We successfully charged the battery with 1-2 amps of power as we made the contacts.
