This January 18, 2018 webinar was hosted by Giuseppe Leone, founder of Virtual Mediation Lab: Online Mediation Made Simple https://www.virtualmediationlab.com and presented by Alex Sanchez and MJ Cartwright. Alex Sanchez is the Manager of the Small Claims Division and Dispute Resolution Department at the Franklin County Municipal Court (FCMC) in Cleveland, Ohio. MJ Cartwright is the CEO of Court Innovations, a company specialized in an Online Dispute Resolution software for courts, which is called Matterhorn.
The purpose of this webinar was dual. First, to learn as much as possible about the FCMC Online Dispute Resolution program for small claims, which was launched in October 2016: e.g. results, response from the public, the small claims court judges and court personnel. Second, to give some advance to other small claims courts – in the USA and abroad - that are also interested to make it easier, faster and more convenient for people to settle their small claims dispute online - on their own time, from their computer of smartphone.
In August 2017 the FCMC Online Dispute Resolution program for small claims received an award from the Ohio State Bar Association for Judicial Innovation.
