Rare early audio of Get Me A Lawyer (Evil) by Goya's Child (1): A Goya's Child (1 & 2) staple, 'Get Me A Lawyer' (also called 'Evil') was played on Australia's leading youth alternative music station in 1993-94 (i.e. ABC's JJJ). The song had plenty of energy live and usually set the entire house dancing. This song was a favourite of mine to perform - even though my vocal input is minimal compared to other GC 1 songs (most of the lyrics are by Liam Thorpe). A warning re: sound quality, this is a 'pre-digital' recording (mastered first reel to reel at a Castlemaine studio in mid-1993 - this version from the tape that followed). It probably belongs to the musical stone-age but some out there may be interested in re-experiencing (or experiencing for the first time) something of the intensity of an early 90s GC (1) gig.

Other songs by Goya's Child (1 & 2) on You-Tube: Wailing to the Waves (GC (2), Wasteland, Goya's Child, Underground, The Arabian, Haunted Lullaby/Whip it, Gods of Autumn, the Egyptian (music similar to The Arabian performed by GC2) ... see also clips from the movie Freedom Deep - they contain various Goya's Child songs performed by GC2. Go also to Reverbnation Goya's Child for more on the band and it's history.

Song rights: Copyright 1991, Mannix, Thorpe, Irvine, Y.T. O'Neil. Mechanical rights: this version/arrangement 1993, Mannix, Thorpe, O'Neil, Y.T. Irvine. The song also appeared on the internationally distributed Freedom Deep movie 1998-2008 [that arrangement copyright Goya's Child (2)].

"Goya's Child are the most haunting and innovative 90s alt rock band you probably never got to listen to ...'
