To take the show into a second year was without question...so much support from the artists from last year...and with this inertia, this year, when Ame72 asked if i would like the month of March @ Legal Action Gallery, we said yes instantly... and over night we put out the call for artists! Meetings @ the gallery and Casco Urban Lab in Florentine district Tel Aviv were happening more regularly... we debated on backgrounds for only a day before deciding to mimic the city;s street censorship of buffing (buff marks - in the form of Grey and white patches). It took Poe and I two days to paint the background through the whole place..so after finishing the painting, we began pasting each artists work we had received, one by one...slowly but surely , the work started covering the walls... Paste-up after stencil were pasted and painted for a few and then nights...and then we waited for two days before opening and began to hang the canvas and piece work from everyone. The walls are tuff in there so we used some pretty strong nails to hold everything up...after a day of hanging we were ready to print the flyer and programs...also we had collected a nice big bag of stickers, artists contact cards from the show, and random free art to give away and so once we had billikid's cowgirl to print as a sticker because the paste was stuck in customs...Nevertheless, not being held back, we had only the programs to be printed and the prints to go into sleeves for viewing then we relaxed and got some much needed rest.
Opening day, we picked up billikid's vinyl sticker from the printer (thanks shameless!) and had a friend deliver printed programs complete with artist and piece details (thanks Yonaton!)...and we were prepared... That night people began to fill the place and smoke filled the air inside and out...drinks and cheers made all around...hundreds filed thru the inside and exterior patio to see the works displayed...drippy paint, buff mark , pastes and installation completed the process of bringing the street and its expressionists inside!
The show is going on now and we will be showing new artists every few days as the exhibition will extend thru the rest of this month! Hopefully, we are an inspiration to you all...you all are certainly inspirations to every one of us here!
