Puccini's tempestuous tale of desire and betrayal makes a triumphant return to Queensland.

Napoleon is poised for victory and in this climate of civil unrest and fear, the love of fiery singer Floria Tosca and painter-revolutionary Cavaradossi is tested by the lustful and corrupt chief of police, Scarpia. Confrontations abound as they engage in a fierce battle of wills and this powerful drama moves towards its inevitable but heart-rending tragedy. Australian soprano Cheryl Barker reprises the role for which she is renowned both here and overseas.

Undoubtedly one of Puccini's masterworks; the thrilling music is emotional and intensely dramatic, exploding with spectacular melodies and beautiful, impassioned arias.
