The OJ Simpson pursuit is/was the most watched pursuit in world history. Watched live by over 93 million viewers, the pursuit pre-empted game 5 of the NBA play-offs and represents a, "Where were you when...?" moment for millions. The pursuit was initiated by Orange County Sheriff's Deputy Larry Pool. The second officer to respond, Orange County Sheriff's Sergeant Jim Sewell, supervised the pursuit. The front row formation of the pursuit was comprised of four Orange County Sheriff's units. One Santa Ana Police unit (Canine officer Miller) was authorized by to remain with the pursuit. Officer Pool and Sewell began the pursuit and each chased Simpson into the driveway at his Brentwood home. Neither Simpson's flight from justice nor the pursuit were addressed during Simpson's trial.
