The Pike is a structure that was built by a Finnish university project called "Aalto on Fire”. The art piece is inspired by the Finnish Kalevala, regarded as the National Epic of Finland and is one of the most significant works of Finnish literature. The main character of this story traverses a river where he finds a big fish and creates a magical kantele from his jaws. Hannu Koistinen is the leading developer of these instrument in Finland, and this instrument and art installation was created specifically for Burning Man 2015.

The project was managed by Anssi Laurila & Andrew Clutterbuck, engineered by Hannu Koistinen & Johannes Kaira and built with the help of over 20 people in the team. This instrument and art installation was created specifically for Burning Man 2015.
