Assault Rifles are team-based, rapid-fire ranged weapons. While generally weak on their own, they buff the Assault Rifle user based on the ally they are standing beside.
The buff received from standing beside an ally varies based on who the ally is (or the character class, if the user is standing next to your custom-made main character), and can range from damage boosts, defense boosts, HP regeneration, Speed Counter gain or Fire elemental shots.
Competencies shown in the video include:
Cheer - Allies standing next to the Assault Rifle user gain a 50% damage boost with all attacks. AR Ammo Loss - Lower chance of expending Assault Rifle ammo when attacking. Enhanced Ally Boosts - Buffs received from allies are more powerful, and the distance from the ally required to access the buff is boosted, as well. Assault Rifle Area - Boosts the area of effect of Assault Rifle attacks. Guard - Allies standing next to the Assault Rifle user receive only 66% damage. Clip Burn - Expends all Assault Rifle ammo in one attack. Damage is based on remaining Assault Rifle ammo.
