Since the time of its theatrical release, Forced Entry has become something of a grindhouse legend. Part slasher film and part adult grindhouse, it certainly must have shocked contemporary audiences and still continues to pack a powerful punch today. What is just as exciting, however, is the fact that the extensive liner notes to follow have been written by none other than the film's author and director, Shaun Costello. One of the most prolific and under-documented filmmakers to emerge from the New York porn scene, Mr. Costello's extensive written comments on the production of Forced Entry offer us a rare "behind-the-scenes" glimpse into the making of one of adult cinema's more unique and pioneering features. Given the difficulty of coming by any hard information about the seventies grindhouse film world, Mr. Costello's gratefully-received commentary expands our knowledge of porn history in general and of his own noteworthy career in particular.
