On May 21 2015, the new build Rem Arctic entered the narrow harbour of Fosnavåg, Norway, for its naming ceremony. The Master of the vessel took the 20 m wide vessel safely through the 22 m wide entrance to the harbour - making it the wides vessel ever entering Fosnavåg.
Rem Arctic is the latest addition to Rem Offshore's fleet, and is built at Kleven Verft in Ulsteinvik. This is vessel number 18 from ship builder Kleven to Rem since 2006, making it a unique cooperation.
Rem Arctic is a PSV specially designed to operate in challenging arctic conditions. The type VS 485 MK III ARCTIC design includes a number of features for ice prevention and de-icing, and hull and propulsion systems will have ICE-1B class.
