During the walrus rut, E.T. shows some peculiar behaviors for his visitors, including some interesting vocalizations. Come watch (and listen) on a trip to Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium!

During the rut, walrus congregate in large numbers for the breeding season. Males will perform a variety of displays to attract a mate, including blowing bubbles, slapping the water and vocalizations. In this video, E.T. demonstrates the peculiar "bell" sound, which he creates with large air pouches near his pharynx and a vacuum with his tongue. Come hear E.T. ring his "bell" at his underwater viewing area at Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
