Matthew Hoh: Recovering from the Darkness of PTSD and Moral Injury

Matthew Hoh shared his journey of recovering from PTSD and moral injury at the Quaker House Military Counseling Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the home of Ft. Bragg, on March 31, 2015.

Matthew is a Senior Fellow at the Center for International Policy and the former Director of the Afghanistan Study Group.

In 2009, Matthew became the first State Department official to resign from his post in Afghanistan in protest over U. S. policy.

The Council on Foreign Relations has cited Matthew's resignation letter as an Essential Document.

As a marine, he was deployed to Iraq. In 2010, Matthew received the Ridenhour Prize for Truth Telling.
