http://www.hardknock.tv Exclusive in-depth interview with Dizzy Wright. In part 1 Dizzy talks to Nick Huff Barili about being inspired to rhyme by Krayzie Bone and Bone Thugs N Harmony. Dizzy recalls that at first his Mother, who worked in the music industry, would write his raps but at one point he felt that it didn't fully represent him so he started writing his own rhymes. Dizzy goes on to share the time him, his Mother and his four brothers and sisters lived in a homeless shelter when he was in 7th grade. Like Asap Rocky whom Nick also interviewed about living in a homeless shelter, Dizzy says that the experience gave him a perspective which he still carries today about being grateful for what he has. "I don't really want for anything. I don't expect anything. When you don't have nothing, anything is cool. Like I said in one of my songs "We was strong when we was weak, thats why I pray before I eat." As the interview progresses Dizzy talks about how the book The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ángel Ruiz help inspired Dizzy's EP The First Agreement. Dizzy calls the book "Life Bars" and says it helps create "Heaven on Earth". Part 1 end with Dizzy addressing people comparing him to Wiz Khalifa. Dizzy says "Wiz is the new Snoop Dogg....So anybody who comes up with tattoos and smokes weed is going to have to go through thats just another want to be Wiz Khalifa until he creates something for himself.

From Hip Hop DX:
Dizzy Wright says that "when you don't have nothing, anything is cool." He also says that Bone thugs-n-harmony's music provided the soundtrack to his house growing up.
Dizzy Wright says his recently released The Golden Age mixtape was inspired by the stories 1990s rappers told. Growing up, the Las Vegas rapper's life story was far from ideal. At one point, the Funk Volume artist lived with the rest of his family in a homeless shelter.
During an interview with hardknock.tv, Dizzy Wright said that being homeless had a profound impact on his life. "I don't really want for anything," he says. "I don't expect anything, like when you don't have nothing, anything is cool. Like I said in one of my songs ['Maintain'], 'We were strong when we was weak / That's why I pray before I eat,' you know, and shit like that. It's just like that's the truth because it wasn't about material things or fly shoes. It was like, when I was old enough to start getting my own shoes and stuff, that's why I was so into them like that, because I never able to get cool shoes. So to throw parties and be able to make this side money, and be able to just, not have no bills, just be able to buy the little things you like, it gives you just a different appreciation for things for sure."
Another thing Dizzy Wright appreciated growing up was the music of Bone thugs-n-harmony. In fact, one member of the Cleveland, Ohio Rap group was one of the reasons Dizzy Wright wanted to be a rapper.
"A particular artist that inspired me to rhyme was Krayzie Bone for sure," Dizzy Wright says. "Bone thugs-n-harmony as a whole, but Krayzie Bone just had that flavor. I remember my older brother, we used to have long hair. I just remember my older brother walking around with his shirt off just rapping and shit, like he was a part of the group. I remember just being at the top of the stairs and like walking down the stairs a little bit and being able to see into the living room like, 'Look at this fool.' But, that, I mean, that eventually became me as I started getting older. That's what we grew up on. That was the soundtrack to the house, you know, Bone thugs-n-harmony."
