I went with a few friends out on The Canadian Pacific Galt Subdivision to railfan for the day. We went to places including Galt, Guelph Junction, Puslinch and Killean, all located within Cambridge and Campbellville, Ontario. We saw killer lash-up's including a P&W SD40-2 on CP 255 from Binghamton and a SOO Line SD60M leader on the CP 627 Ethanol train, and lastly a meet between two trains at Guelph Junction to end our day.

1. CP 248-04 - CP 5987 & CP 5978 (GMD SD40-2) lead an eastbound Autorack/mixed freight train from Windsor to Toronto through Clyde Rd.

2. CP 141-03 - CP 8842 (GE ES44AC) & CP 9594 (GE AC4400CW) lead a westbound Autorack/Intermodal train from Montreal to Detroit through Milborough Line.

3. CP 147-04 - CP 8888 (GE ES44AC), ICE 6431 "City of Spencer" & CEFX 3168 (SD40-2) lead a westbound Autorack train from Toronto to Chicago.

4. CP 541-04 Hamilton Turn - CP 3057 & CP 3111 (GMD GP38-2) are light power heading back westbound to London about to stop at the Guelph Junction Interlocking to hold for CP 441 overtaking them at 1st Line.

5. CP 441-04 - CP 5959 & CP 5943 (GMD SD40-2) lead a westbound Autorack/mixed freight train from Toronto to Windsor. This train took forever to get to us at Guelph Junction because the second engine (CP 5943) was having engine problems at Meadowvale GO station.

6. CP 255-02 - CP 8825 (GE ES44AC), CP 9706 (GE AC4400CW), DME 6068 "City of Joe Chulick" & PW 2009 (EMD SD40-2) lead an eastbound coil/mixed freight train from Binghamton to Toronto.

After 255 went through Guelph Junction, we we're going to chase it to Bartlett in Toronto, but as we we're on our way, we got a text from one of our friends saying that there was a CP 627 Ethanol train on it's way to Guelph Junction with a SOO Line SD60M leader! So we turned around to head to Puslinch and there was more exciting news. CP 627 had to hold for an eastbound at the east end of Puslinch which was The London Pickup who had an engineer on his very last day of work before retirement, so because of that we caught 627 coming to a stop at Puslinch, caught the London Pickup at Killean and finally got 627 again there!

7. The London Pickup - CP 5960 & CP 6075 (GMD SD40-2) lead a short eastbound mixed freight train from London to Guelph Junction with some extra horn from the now retired engineer. We then catch it again later back at Milborough going back westbound to London.

8. CP 627 - SOO 6061 (GMD SD60M) & CEFX 2786 (ex-SP/UP EMD SD40M-2) lead a westbound Ethanol train through Shellard Side Rd with an awesome lash-up and surprising leader!

9. The London Pickup heads back westbound through Milborough just after leaving Guelph Junction with the now retired engineer giving us extra horn at the crossing again. Happy retirement sir!

10. CP 245-04 - CP 8885 (GE ES44AC) & CP 9724 (GE AC4400CW) lead a westbound mixed freight train from Toronto to Chicago.

11. As CP 245 went by us at Guelph Junction, it meets CP 240 with CP 9573 (GE AC4400CW) & CP 8762 (GE ES44AC) leading an eastbound mixed freight train from Chicago to Toronto. After 240 went by, the rest of CP 245 was still going past us with some new DTTX Intermodal well cars.

This marks another awesome day on The Canadian Pacific Galt Subdivision in the History books!

Thanks for watching!
